I've been volunteering part time for nearly a year while working a couple of agency jobs, so I'm ready to work more and eager to be hired. Here are the services I provide.

Gardening

If you would like someone to look after your garden in a way that helps nature bloom, I can help! Sometimes, taking care of a garden can be hard work, and I would love to make it easier for you. If you live in or around Manchester, here are the services I provide:

  • Weeding beds and patios
  • Planting
  • Tidying
  • Hedge trimming
  • Garden design
  • Making habitats for wildlife
  • Mowing - If you don't have a lawnmower, I can do it with a scythe.
  • ...and more! Just ask.
I get around on my bike and use handtools, which means zero carbon emmissions and you can still hear the birdsong while I work.

My experience ranges from volunteering at Station South community garden, tending to the vegetable and fruit garden at my family's house, and managing volunteers at two allotments under the care of The Conservation Volunteers (TCV) in Manchester, as well as years of experience in practical conservation.

Running nature walks

I had great fun planning and running a sensory-themed nature walk for Forge MCR around Platt Fields Park. I have also planned and lead nature walks around Sale Water Park for a group of adults with learning disabilities, and worked with school groups teaching about ponds and bugs in Clayton Vale with TCV.

Coppicing

I am obsessed with coppicing and have been coppicing and making coppice product for sale for two seasons at Hardwick Wood in Cambridgeshire, am involved in the coppice at Highfields Country Park in Levenshulme, and am an active member of the National Coppice Federation.

If you would like:

  • advice on how to get coppice back into rotation or how to sell products
  • a pair of hands that are skillful with a billhook and saw
  • someone who can make beanpoles, hedging stakes, morris dancing sticks, or peasticks to standard measurements (or even a besom broom)
I can help you! Equally, I am able to fell small trees.

Proofreading and Copyediting

If you have website copy, or any other text that needs proofreading or copyediting, I have experience doing both for an international company. I won't use AI, so you can trust that my work will be accurate and sound natural.

Translation

I am fluent in Russian and can translate text either way between Russian and English. I can also transcribe audio for translation if this is required. I am a heritage speaker and received an A in Russian A Level.
